First grade homework will start after we are comfortable with our classroom routine.
Homework Packets go home on Tuesdays in the BEE book. They are due back the following Tuesday. We recommend you spend an average of 10-20 minutes a night doing homework and reading with your child. If your child is having trouble with a particular activity or one of you gets frustrated, please skip it and write us a note.
Looking For More?
If your first grader is hungry for homework, and some of them are, here are some ideas:
-
Create a journal.
-
Write a 'small moment' story.
-
Go to www.learningpages.com for worksheets
-
Go to http://www.carlscorner.us.com for free worksheets. Scroll down to the word family bears!
-
Go to phonemic awareness worksheets from RockNLearn These are great worksheets to reinforce long and short vowels and ALL the important word chunks and families.
-
